The medical student's five must-haves that no one told you about

The first thing that came to my mind when I knew I passed in my chosen med school was what supplies should I get. Unlike in college, graduate school is a bit different because you only need what's important. I was clueless so I ended up buying a lot of useless stuff. I guess every student can relate when I say that buying the school supplies is one of the best parts of being a student, right?  But one thing that I learned in med school is to buy only what you need. Ang mahal kaya ng tuition fee, bes. Worry no more because I've listed down the only five things you really need in your school bag.

You will only need two notebooks/fillers. One is for your lecture notes and the other one is for listing down your grades. I'm an old-school kid so I wanted to write down my grades just so I know my standing in class. I personally think that you don't need a notebook per subject because that is what the transers are for. Most of the time, the professors would be kind enough to give the class a copy of the lecture. Anyway, it depends on you of course. If you love doodling your notes, then let your creative juice flowing and buy notebooks!

There's no such thing as too many highlighters. Every med student can relate to this. It's too addicting! BUT I personally use only three different colors of highlighters - mango yellow, bright yellow and green/pink/blue whichever is available.

CLIPBOARD. It is such a lifesaver when it comes to taking out your notes/reviewers.

PLANNER to keep track of everything you do. It'll be a wild roller coaster ride full of ups and downs and at the end of the ride, it will feel like you didn't do much. Truth is, you were so busy you can't even remember the things you did. I have a planner where I list down the things I did that day, how my day went whether it's good or bad, the life events I missed because of exams, etc. I keep forgetting some things and writing it down helps me remember. It's also fun to look back and see the progress I made.

BOND PAPER. Lots of it. For everything you need to print out.

Of course, you also need pens.

I guess that's it! Meron pa ba? What are your med school must-haves? Let me know on comments section  below!
